Last July, Kalfrisa and AM/NS INDIA reached an agreement for the supply of several heat recuperators for the Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant that the joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel has in Hazira, Gujarat, India.
This plant, formerly ESSAR STEEL, is India’s third largest by volume with a current installed production capacity of 10 million tons of iron per annum (MTPA) and an announced expansion of 5 MTPA in the next 3 years.
KALFRISA has obtained this order and has the confidence of the customer thanks to the increase of its presence on the Indian market through a local commercial agent and the first commercial actions in the country.
In April, a team from the Energy department visited Hazira’s facilities and after several technical-commercial meetings it was agreed that KALFRISA would revise the original designs of the heat recuperators applying all its experience designing and manufacturing this type of equipment for the steel industry.
In recent years, KALFRISA has exponentially increased its presence in the DRI plant market.
Since 2020 alone, 3 complete heat recovery systems and numerous spare parts have been sold, making a total of 76 recuperators in just 3 years.
These heat recuperators are designed and manufactured to the highest quality standards, following both the American ASME and European AD-2000-Merkblatt standards and using the latest software available for the design of pressure equipment.
