Kalfrisa, committed to sustainability, participates in various initiatives to promote a greener and more efficient future.<\/p>\n\n

In this context, at Kalfrisa, together with the R&D department, we are participating in the LIFE program under the Circular Economy and Quality of Life subprogram<\/strong> with the ABATE <\/strong><\/a>project, where high-performance technologies are applied to reduce VOCs in waste treatment plants.<\/p>\n\n

At Kalfrisa, we carry out detailed engineering for two demo sites, located at Ecoparc 3<\/a> in Sant Adri\u00e0 del Bes\u00f2s, Barcelona, and Las Dehesas in Madrid. We are responsible for implementing the first VOC purification element using technology based on adsorption\/desorption processes (Zeolitic matrix rotoconcentrator), which will transform large-volume streams with low VOC concentrations (20,000 Nm\u00b3\/h) into a highly concentrated VOC stream (2,000 Nm\u00b3\/h) along with a clean air stream free of VOCs (18,000 Nm\u00b3\/h).<\/p>\n\n

The expected benefits include significant improvements in the operating costs of both demo sites: a VOC removal efficiency of 90\u201395% is anticipated, along with a 90% reduction in natural gas and thermal energy consumption, and a 90% decrease in CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n\n

Additionally, a reduction in both operating and capital costs for air and gas treatment is expected.<\/p>\n\n

This project is aligned with the objectives set out in the Circular Economy PERTE<\/strong>, developing sustainable solutions that contribute to environmental protection and strengthen Kalfrisa\u2019s role in the transition toward a more responsible and regenerative economy.<\/p>\n\n
